Everything was out of tune today. Every CD played, every musical instrument Lucille tried. And when she gave up and really wished the Silence would appear, it was nowhere to be seen. Lucille suspected it was grinning behind her back.

Today earplugs turned out to be her best friends.

It was possible that the strange creatures that had invaded Fandom last week were still on everyone's mind when the Student Council had designed the decorations for Prom. Lucille had chased the Silence around the shop until the creature had gotten bored and seemingly fallen asleep in a box on the top shelf in the storage room. Lucille missed the Silence, but the strange creature seemed to be hiding or had disappeared altogether. She could even have put up with the annoying blue men. The reason for this was that the stereo was playing horrible music. Then there was this food smell.
